Graduate trip of the winter program 2019/20
On 10.07.2020, the graduates of the 2019/20 winter program had a graduation ceremony together in the form of an excursion. This trip meant a lot for the graduates: On the one hand, the graduation at the Studienkolleg and also the first joint reunion, after the Corona “high phase” and associated severely limited contact prohibitions. Also some lecturers of the Studienkolleg joined the excursion, in order to say goodbye to the graduates duly.
After the obligatory group photo in front of the Cologne Cathedral, the group took the train to Bonn together. They experienced a journey through time in the House of History.
Through the detailed guided tour and explanations of an employee of the museum, the graduates came a few steps closer to the history and culture of Germany.
Afterwards they went on to Königwinter. The small town directly on the Rhine shows its beauty in its tranquility. After a short refreshment, the group could start climbing the Drachenfels.
The group passed the oldest operating rack railroad and started hiking towards the Drachenburg Castle. The heavily clouded weather was ideal for climbing the mountain.
The graduates were amazed by the castle, the Gothic and dark style provided a somewhat mysterious feeling. After a short shower, which was waited in the castle, the group could continue in the fresh air to the so-called mountain station and enjoy the magnificent view.
An ascent is always followed by a descent, which was sweetened by a visit to the Nibelungen Hall and the reptile zoo. Satisfied with their performance after the assessment test, all graduates were relaxed and visibly enjoyed themselves.
The team of the Studienkolleg says goodbye to this great class with one crying and one laughing eye and wishes the graduates all the best for their further educational path in Germany!
